Wall Dehumdifiers - Practical And Stylish

As anyone who has ever visited a spa knows, the moisture content of the air is uncomfortably high and if it wasn’t for wall mounted dehumidifiers it would be much higher. A wall dehumidifier works in exactly the same way as a portable dehumidifier.

Coils are cooled and cause humid air to transfer the water to the coils through condensation. This water is then piped away from the unit for disposal. In common with other dehumidifiers wall mounted dehumidifiers come in various sizes and are suitable for various applications, from commercial and industrial work to home use. The wall mounted versions have the added attraction in not taking up floor space freeing it up for other use, as such they are suitable for use in basements or in small spaces like studio apartments.

Wall mounted dehumidifiers are also suitable for use in changing rooms adjoining pools. By using a wall mounted unit any risk of danger from water coming into contact with the electrically powered unit is reduced considerably. When choosing a wall dehumidifier a good idea is to select a unit that has a wireless remote control. This contributes significantly to ease of use as well as removing the temptation of manually adjusting the unit’s setting in an environment which has plenty of water. The unit's wall mounting also makes it ideal for use in bathrooms and areas where clothes dry. A whole house dehumidifier might still be a better option where larger areas are concerned.

Wall mounted dehumidifiers are also suitable for industrial use where a dry atmosphere is required, such as food manufacturing. The industrial wall dehumidifiers can be installed in each room of the operation to ensure that levels of contamination that might be caused by high humidity, such as that caused by mold and fungi are kept to a minimum. Dehumidifiers also reduce the growth of bacteria making them a must for industrial use where contamination would be an issue. Industrial use would also extend to products where paint finish and drying time is an issue.

It's not wise to use air conditioners and dehumidifiers at the same time. Since dehumidifiers increase the temperature of the air during the dehumidifying process it means that the load on the air conditioning unit will be increased, therefore the use of the two units at the same time is discouraged. Using both will certainly lead to an increase in electricity consumption.

Wall dehumidifiers are easy to install, many coming with a paper template which allows the consumer to drill holes in the right places to hang the dehumidifier. Be aware that a wall dehumidifier requires that a pipe be run from the unit to a disposal area such as a drain in order for the water produced by the unit to be safely disposed of. Whatever decision is made regarding which model of wall dehumidifier to purchase the wall hanging units do free up floor space and are much safer for use where there are children in the home. Newer units are also significantly smaller than the older models. The only drawback to the wall hanging units is that they are not portable.
